In everything that i have read, it seems as though Mobil 1 is THE top full synthetic oil, partial sythetics are fine, but not much better than crude oil, synthetic oils due not cause oil leaks, but they might point out leaks to you by removing crude oil sludge from cracks in gaskets, and syntec is stupid.
and a q? why would any grand am use heavier than 10w-30 oil? the thinner oil will provide much better start up and still provide the same protection! i've even read of one case where the thicker oil CAUSED damage because it could not properly penetrate between engine internals!
