we just ripped one down from the crate motor and other than the oil returns that you have to plug, just like in the LS2 it seemed great and it has now stood up to 600hp+ in a new vette with just the bolt ons, cam and the typicals. I read this a while ago and refrenced back to it. We did not seem to have the casting and cylinder liner problems as they all came out fine and the mains were finished well. Did you purchace a short block? we bought whole crate motor. I not defending GM for its poor lack of quality in your case but just trying to find out more problems.
