Anyone know how to fix the power window???
Grr... I so sick of my damn driverside window... Drive thru is out of the question anymore!!
Anyone know how to fix it?!? I took the inside panel off to look, but you can hardly get to the window. It doesn't look like it's off the track... But I really wouldn't know. Are the arms bent maybe??
I know this is a common problem for for these well built cars...
Anyone know how to fix it?

talking about the window going up crooked and popping off they track?
If so, the the arms are bent and you need a new motor/arm assembly, (get a redesigned one off ebay, it seems to be sturdier) then you have to take the door panel off, and drill out the rivets that hold the motor in place, you only have a few small holes to work through  Then just install the new assembly and bolt it in, and you're ready to go, not a very difficult job, just a pain in the ass. :goob: There are other small steps I left out, but they are pretty self explainatory, good luck :)

I did my driver's side last May or so. As I said, Apparently GM redesigned the motors because they one I got off ebay was much stronger looking than the old one I took out.

Cool. Mine seems to take forever to go down or up... Is that fixed also? It seemed faster with a window crank....

Um yeah, power window motors in all 92-98's are crappily built from the dealer. I've replaced the driver's side front one twice now, ugh. $200 each time.
Basically you have to drill through the rivets to get to the window motor/window, replace it, and then rivet it back in. =/

$200 for a brand new motor and the labor to have it installed. I don't have a rivet gun. =(

Yeah, I got one off eBay also. They do seem a little better made, even though I think it was made in Taiwan. :goob: But, not my window goes down, but the top sticks above the door trim about an inch. I dont see anyway to adjust it :(

I removed mine and bent it back into place. I've got cranks so as long as you don't apply excess pressure after it's closed, it won't bend. Be careful to remove and set aside the glass before you remove the regulator...it breaks easily. I also drilled out the rivets and replaced them with bolts. I ground down the heads of the bolts to prevent them from shaking loose. Clearance of the bolt heads wasn't a problem.

if you look carefully, the regulator arms have holes drilled in them... this is where the arms bend... why are you replacing the whole motor regulator assembly? can you not just replace the arms??? that's what i did for my drivers side, and that's what i will bedoing for my passenger side which bent when my bosses fat son leaned on my window!!

For $35 you might as well buy piece of mind, knowing you have a "new" piece on your car.
Good luck
