Bought my GTP Yesterday!! What toys to put in now...
Well guys…I did it. I bought my GTP…
Here’s the link. I called and talked with the guy, and I fly down to get it next week… http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=110140911732 Now the FUN!!! What performance mod’s should I do to this without going crazy? I was thinking Intake, Chip, Exhaust, Pulley. But I don’t want to blow up my motor. What should I be getting? Also, what’s this I’m hearing about ‘U-Bend’ ‘deletion’ or ‘mod’?? Is exhaust actually needed for performance? Or just sound?? Let me know…I want to make it quick, without blowing up my motor…

Congrats on the purchase.I know you are excited.I would say the standard mods,CAI,exhaust,pullies and PCM reflash.I`m not familiar with the specific things people are doing with them.Maybe some 3800 experts will chime in.

congrats the first thing you should do is look at getting a PCM, 180degree T-stat- 2 1/2 or 3' down pipe i would recomend the intense PCM overall check out www.3800pro.com and the following links

PCM, smaller pulley, intercooler kit, SLP or similar exhaust, and a U-bend delete pipe.

I used to have a modded 98' GTP. Very great cars in every aspect.
Easy to make tons of power yet still get great gas mileage and driveability! First off Congrats on the purchase. The E-bay link doesn't work anymore.. What are the specs on the car? Best starting mods would CAI, aftermarket PCM (Intense, Overkill or DHP are common ones, I personally had a Digital Horse Power one) and U-Bend Delete. The U-Bend is right after the Catylic Converter and really restricts the exhaust flow. All you need to do is get that U pipe cut out and a straight chunk welded in its place. The reason for the U is so they could mount the o2 sensor straight up but you can mount it sideways into a straight pipe or get an o2 simulator. (That is what I used and never had any issues) The PCM makes such a huge difference in throttle response and everything. After those are done then I would go with a 3.4" Pulley. Any smaller and you will get some KR. Take a look around on some of the Grand Prix Forums, the guys are very helpful and there are endless mods and possibilities!
