Fiero 3800 II SC Racecar

my dad and myself are building a fiero racecar and wondered if we posted the build here if we would have some back up when it came to answering questions. i have been a member for a long time and figured if were using a 3800 sc the gtp guys could help us out.

I had two Fieros in the mid 80`s.Belonged to the Fiero Club Of America.A `85 modded GT that won the Fiero Nationals in `85. and a pretty stock `84 2M4.

and yes it will be a drag car, hopefully street legal by the time were done with it, if not not a big deal really.

The best part about the 3800 swap, is it will drop right in and bolt up. That alone gets you close into the 12s. I believe you have to modify the flywheel. You will need one from a Camaro/Firebird V6 3800, since the L67 (3800 S/C) never came stick shift.

OK first round of questions,
1. we have the gas tank out of both cars, wed like to use the fiero gas tank but we dont know about the fuel pumps, can we put the riviera fuel pump in fiero gas tank and just run the lines?

2. a/c. we have the compressor and bracket from both cars but the compressor on the fiero was seized. can we manipulate the riviera compressor to work with the rest of the pre existing fiero a/c?

3. computers. what a headache. do we need the fiero computer for anything? we'd like to have lights thats about it. and if we do have to keep the fiero computer would it be wise to mount the other 6000 riviera computers in the trunk?

4. funds are starting to play into this project, so as of now were selling the 2.5 and the 4 spd auto, both have about 200k on them.

1. Use the Riviera fuel pump. Do what you got to do with either gas tank, but you need the L67 fuel pump.

2. Probably want to go with the L67s IF you can. Itll mount where you need it to, but I dont think the lines match. Try getting adapters.

3. From what I understand you need to keep the Fiero computer. It runs everything else except the motor. I think all the L67 PCM will do is read the sensors are there and operating so it wont shut down the engine. But I do believe you need to do some kind of fuel management.

4. I assume your throwing in the 4T65E with it?

Good looking project you got going...the OP above me answered your questions pretty well. If you are wanting to know anything aftermarket or performance let me know...I know a bone stock Fiero with a L67 swap with a good set of tires and a filter bolted on the throttle body will EASILY pull high to upper mid 12's (12.6's-12.9's).
