Did you check the ground connections? See if someone with a GA FSM can tell you where the grounds are, and make sure that they have no corrosion. It's unlikely that you have a more complicated problem, but who knows? Good luck though!

FSM? as in "Full Service Manual"? ive got a haynes n my dads got about 40 different books on about everything Toro to D8 Caterpillar... hes got wiring diagrams somewhere, ive seen them b4 but idk where he keeps them...

Sorry, FSM as in "Factory Service Manual." It's one book (set) for your car's chassis and just one year. For my 94 Bonneville, there's one whole book for the 94 mechanics and another one for the electronics. It's actually something only dealerships have, but you can get your own on eBay or through one of a few companies that just re-prints FSMs. I paid $70 for mine, but the price is normally $30 to $200, depending on rarity and demand.
Look on eBay first for a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am factory service manual. Here's one: Huge FSM link
