Question on Bags

I am ordering the air bag kit for my 96 Grand Am from airbagit.com and I am a little confused. The back where the bag would go also has the shock. Airbagit.com sells shocks but when I called they said that you dont need them. So are they special shocks from them? Or can you use the same shocks you already have? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I want to get it ordered soon!

Hey... Just noticed this post buddy. Yeah, regualar shocks are fine. You just have to make sure they don't BOTTOM all the way out when you lay it down. I'm using GABRIEL Gas-Ryders on the rear of 'the Red'. They're PERFECT. Ran me less than 25 bucks at AutoZone.

(Monroe Sensa-Tracks will NOT work however though... too high compressed)

Unless you want a BAGGED GA that doesn't sit very "LOW"... ha

One thing for sure... Show car or not- you DO need to have shocks. I didn't at first (b/c I was in the process of looking for ones that would work...finally found the Gabriel brand ones)... and my GA's back tires have left the ground going 60-70mph on the highway before... real crazy. Not too safe. FUN, but no good.

ended up ordering one today from fmkustoms.com I got 2 Viair 380 compressors, 7 gallon tank, 1/2inch lines and valves! Cant wait to get it!

Do you know what size the port on them are? 1/2" is the BEST for our cars. They may be 1/2, but maybe 1/4"..? Can't wait to hear about them!
