Whats that Really loud grinding Noise?

Hmm, Its coming from the back.
It couldn't be my brakes cause I just had Buckies put on new drums.

Noise changes pitch when increasing and decreasing speed.
Loud THUNK noise when starting from a stop.

I think something might be seriosly Broken.

What do you guys think?

hmm, the thunking noise sounds a lot like a failing cv joint. as for the grinding, if its coming from the back, then yeah i would investigate the rear brakes.

My dad and I pulled off the rear pass rim tonight.

Pulled off the Drum and a Bolt Fell on to the ground. It was the top adjustment bolt for the brake assembly.

I had an automotive shop (buckies) do the brakes about two months ago, I need to stop buy there sometime in the next few days and yell at them to put new drums, pads, that bolt, and have them adjusted again. At THEIR expence.

Jazzman, Did you put the 3400 in your self? If so you will have Zero trouble doing this.
I had one of the first copies of the pullie and it did not have the holes. If I had more engine mecanics knolage or my dads help I would have put it in my self, but I had another shop put it in.
They drilled two holes in either side and screwed the sensor down. They also used LockTight, its not going anywhere.
Just follow the instructions on ffp's website.

Remind them that if you where to get in an accident and your brakes where to blame, the shop and tech could of lost there pants on this deal.

Also remember to be tactful about this......if you go in there running your mouth you will not get anywhere.

Yeah, the only problem for me was the egr shit, but if you get yourself a upper plenum from a 3400 up to 99 you'll be fine, i had to create an adapter plate. That and the exhaust were my only issues. I bought kalvins afpr just to bolster the fuel system a little since the engine is bigger and i didn't know how well the computer would compensate.

Other than that, you might have to switch the linkage on the tb's so that your throttle cable will still work, its easy. the only other thing i can think of is the exhaust, but any good shop should be able to creat a downpipe for you, i had dave lisecki help me with that, he did it one way and i took my design cues from his design.

Hope that helps you, if you need anything just pm me.

Derek
