GM could beat the ford GT with a 4 cylinder or V6 if they wanted to.....500hp is hardly impressive these days.

Well, its the combination of everything in the car with weight, power, and handling. I was a little upset with the low numbers that the 5.4L DOHC puts out, but I can't wait to see what this vette can do:)

yeah, but it's the Japanese cars that have small high output engines and they use turbos to help them out. If GM is that deparate they should get their Japanese afilliates to help them out. They own Subaru and I belive they own something like 10% of Toyota.

Yeah, the vette is traditionally powered by a V8 16valve

From what I have heard, prices will be about the same as the Ford GT, but only very limited production (about 200 or so)

The original ones were 6-cyl. If Japan can build a 4-cyl with over 300hp think about what they can do with an 8-cyl. It would be cool if they would build a twin turbo vette, but they will probibly go n/a or put on a supercharger.

I dont think you can say that. I mean the japanese automakers have just recently jumped into the full size truck market. There are what two fullsize trucks running V8's (the toyota, and nissan) But, there is an Isuzu motor in the GM pickups, i think it is like a 7.0L motor (not sure, does anyone know for sure?)

Uhh.. No. Isuzu has GM motors, not GM has Isuzu motors. The Duramax was co-developed by GM and Isuzu, buts its 100% GM
