K&N Cold Air Intake - Trailblazer SS - Is "Tuning" Requied?

Hey Folks!

I have a 2006 Trailblazer SS and I am considering purchasing a K&N Cold Air Intake from E-Bay ($303.00 including shipping).

I have been reading mixed reviews on Cold Air Intakes for the Trailblazer SS if "Tuning" is required after installation.

I called K&N's Technical Question 1-800 number and was told that "Tuning" would not be required after a K&N Cold Air Intake was installed on my Trailblazer SS. The Chevrolet Dealership who can install this K&N Cold Air Intake for $75 also claims that "Tuning" isn't required.

After doing some research on the web, I have learned that some people feel a "Tune" is necessary. Trailblazer First Mods

Can someone help me out? Ideally, I would like to add a K&N Cold Air Intake but I don't want to re-program the computer on my Trailblazer SS. Any opinions will greatly be appreciated.
