Lookin for a sport truck forum.

Well im lookin for a forum or just a site that will give me more detailed information about my vortec 4.3. I wanna see what i can do with it and what changes need to be made to it or can be made to it. Its decade old design so there should be something somewhere. Ive heard some things about some chevy small block 350 parts will go into the 4.3 such as pistons, rods, valves etc.... anyone know anything about this?

why won't the parts work? from what i've seen/been told it's the same engine (as a 350), less 2 cylinders...

Well i know 350's and just about any other small block will fit in there, dont get me wrong im no newb, its just i dont know much about this particular engine and dont wanna do any swaps until that factory warranty runs out or i void it, lol. Ive seen and driven my fair share of small block powered pick-ups. its just the problem is theres so many of them, and i dont know about you but around where i live i just dont see many built up 4.3's that have actually accomplished something. thats what im going for.

dont put a small block in there. if you are going to swap engines do it right and drop a full blown 454 in there.

and yes they will fit all you need is the right amount of $ to do anything!!!!

btw the 350 parts wont fit unless you do mods to the block. you might as well go get a 350 or sell it.

and please dont buy any extremes. they are just sdymes with $50 ground fx put on them to make them look lower. there not

so for you my friend i say this, screw the swap. keep the 4.3 ditch the extreme package and go with some bags. expensive but cool as hell even if you truck dont run you can still hook up a bettery and play with them

just my .02

Ummm, right. well i bought an xtreme and i like it and there not 50 ground effects there actually made of poly urethane, and that poly urethane is not cheap.... and im not puttin a small block or big block for that matter, in because theres probablly hundreds of people that already have.

1.

2. many 350 internals will fit IIRC, including pistons bearings and just about anything other than the crank, rods and cams.

3. Its a visual and handling package, why shouldn't you buy it? I think the package looks pretty good. You get a locking rear differential, new front and rear springs, 46-mm de Carbon gas charged shocks, 33-mm front sway bar, 22-mm rear sway bar, a fast ratio 12.7:1 steering gear box. The ride is lowered around 2 inches, 1.5 from the springs and about .5 from the tires, you also get the ground fx.

Thats a hell of a lot more than you get in most GM packages.

S-series.org seems to be a pretty decent forum with a good amount of 4.3 and xtreme info.
Good luck
