S-10 Options....

I'm looking for advice on intake, exhaust, and pretty much anything else I could do to my S-10. I've got a '99 LS, 2.2L 5 Speed, 2 WHEEL DRIVE, if anyone out there has any suggestions or has done anything to one, let me know!!! THANKS!

Chris

now im not sure on the 2.2, but i know people that have the 4.3 and they've used a power programmer, pullies, exhaust, CAI, cam, and a whole bunch of other stuff. but the 4.3 is so close to a V8 its not even funny.

i'd look into a power programmer for it. you just plug it into your dash and answer a few yes/no questions and it's WELL worth the money. the S10 usually has a pretty big aftermarket, so parts shouldn't be that hard to find for it. your major problem is going to be the 2.2

Yeah, I've looked into a 4.3L. I could do that, but it'd be way too nuts! Can you imagine a 4.3L in a 2 wheel drive, with a FIVE SPEED?! Wow, someday guys, someday. I'm looking into a CAI, but I can't figure out how to do it. There was a guy on cardomain that had one, but he won't reply to any of my questions about it, so I don't know what to do. I can't find an actual aftermarket CAI for the 2.2L in the S-10, so I'm going to have to "rig" one up myself. Any imput on that, and possible ways to do it would also be appreciated.

PVC pipe. raid the local home depot's plumbing department and look for stuff. as you look you'll see stuff you need or could use.

a 4.3 with a 5 speed wouldn't be that bad........a 350 on the other hand is a different story. i have a cousin that took the 2.3 out of his project S10 and put in a 4.3 out of a full size and that thing will get sideways from a standstill punch. and he hasn't even done anything to the engine yet
