If anyone here own's an s-10 Xtreme, can you please tell me what you think about it? Also, let me know what engine you have and if it's a 5spd or auto. I really like the truck's looks, just wanna know if it's worth it or not. Thanx.

one of my friends had one a couple years back. it had the 2.2 4 cylinder and 5 speed. it was pretty, and it handled fucking awesome through the curves, but as far as acceleration goes it was a real slouch.

The Extream never came with a 2.2L.

The Extream is a 4.3L HO. I think it's got 190HP, and more than 200 Torque. It's not slouch.

the Extreme is available or was available at some point with both the 4.3 and the 2.2

Well, I Take it back.

The Xtreme package is just the a suspention and Exterier Looks thing, kinda like the ZR2.

don't tell me i'm wrong :p i KNOW it had the itty bitty 2.2 4 cylinder in it. sure it'd break rubber but it was still a slouch.

I looked it up the 4.3L rated at 190HP has 250 Torque. :eek: nice.

Do you know if the 2.2 has an aftermarket for it? I really want the 2.2 so I can have the 5spd.

no not to much but the 4.3 does but take the 2.2 l and do a small block swap you would be god if you did i have always wanted to do it but i dont have the time.

sorry but the 2.2 is a terd for the most part. you can get some 2.2 stuff from mantapart... if you feel like dealing with mantapart, that is :rolleyes: i'm sure you could find some other 2.2 stuff elsewhere, but it'll hardly do a lick of good.

dan, have you seen the times people run in older s10s with SBCs in them? not too impressive considering the power/weight ratio. trucks naturally have poor traction issues. now lets say you dropped a small block into a typhoon or syclone, or even just suped up it's stock turbo v6... THEN, you could achieve godlike status. small truck + big motor + ALL WHEEL DRIVE = teh WIN!!!

the syclone and typhone is sick, absolutley sick. I once saw a moderatly modified typhoon spank a vette like it was a civic. it was awsome. all you hear is this high airy sound and the BOV. the turbo idea is great i have heard people have broken into the 12 sec range with 10lbs of boost.

they make the 4.3 with a 5 speed, I looked at a few of them when I was thinking of buying new vehicle. They have plenty of torgue, my friend has one with a custom paint job on it. It's a red truck with yellow and orange flames that start at the frong and work their way back to the bed. Nice truck, he mistreats it pretty bad though.

so they did make the xtreme with the 4.3 matched with a 5spd? That shit must be rare cause I haven't come across one.
