You should really know what your talking about before being a flamer. Last time I checked Alpines aren't "cheap ass subs" (especially their S Types), along with their amps. Second, 700 watts isnt underpowering, if you knew anything about stereo's you would 440 is just the suggested rms (if you know what that is). Lastly how am I a newb, you have no idea how long ive been into stereo equipment. And how come you didnt answer my technical questions?

I wasnt bein disrespectful. If anything I was trying to tell him he doesnt need that many amps for his MTX sub, not rockford. And I agree that Rockfords do out perform other brand, I was contemplating on getting a pair myself.

WHOA Holy shit! :).. haven't looked at this thread in a while.. Lot's happened since I have.. LOL... Your right man, I don't know a lot about stereo stuff, I know mine sounds good, looks unique and I like it.. So yes you are new to the boards, may not be new to other car related shit, big deal.. we don't like that stuff around here. And who is to say I am using THAT many amps for one sub?? One is for the sub, the other is for the internal speakers you idiot. So is one amp ok to power that sub... or no? mr. genius :)..
