If you press mode or source it should switch to the line input if not check the owners manual if you dont have that you should be able to look it up on Sony's web site

I would call a Sony tech and see what they say. I haven't worked at a stereo shop in over a year so I don't know much about that cd player. There should be a tech # in the manual. They should be able to help you out.

What kind of input does it have? RCA or mini-plug? If it has an RCA input, is it possible that you plugged into the output? I'm sure we've all made a dumb mistake like that once or twice. I think there is a possibility that the player won't go to the input selection if there is nothing plugged into it. Just a thought.

you could also unhook it and see if your stereo works properly and if it does you will have narrowed down where your problem is.

if your cd player doesnt have an aux mode on it then it wont work with a ps2. id say get a newer cd player and make sure that your ps2 will hook up to it and work right. i know from experience playin ps2 on a system is badass!
