sub problems

Hey all, I just recently purchased a new triple box off ebay for my three 10'' MTX 6000 subs ( 4 ohm) and installed them all this weekend. I ran them in parallel so I could get the most out of my amp. I am running an Autotek 200 watt amp. Everything works except every now and then my amp will go into protection mode if I turn it up very loud. I have checked all the wires, and put a bigger ground wire in, but they are still screwing up every now and then. I read online that you have to have the right impedance for your amp. Mine is stable at 2 ohms when bridged and the way mine are ran, they are at 1.4 ohms. I was wondering if there was any way possible to get around this problem without having to buy a new amp, or rewiring them all again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. When they screw up all I have to do is just turn off the head unit and turn it back on and they are fine for a while. I know this isn't good, so what can I do?

i think you should check out the wiring diagram that mtx offers. if your amp is 2 ohm stable and your running the subs at 1.4ohms then thats your problem. the amp isnt designed to handle that little resistance and the protection will come on. the only way i see to fix it is to pick a different wiring diagram or get a 1ohm stable amp. you may be able to just get a resistor and put it in line with the speaker wire, but id have no clue on which one to get. sorry i couldnt be of more help.

I appreciate it, I am getting some good advice from other people. I didn't think ahead too much on this one, but the worst thing would be I have to by a bigger amp. I have been wanting one anyways. Thanks
