volt guages connects to the what bone?

i know this sounds dumb but....which wire does a Volt guage goto?

is it on the alt or battery?


:confused:


im gonna be helping hook up a volt and air/fuel tonight, i know about the A/F but i dunno where volt ones connect to. :)

Volt SHOULD be just any +12 volt wire when the car is on...

actually its SUPPOSED to hook to a swithed source, there are spots in the fuse box for swithed power. that way its not on all the time

I always hook stuff up to the radio because it is on the ignition...

Alternator and the + battery are connected..

Anyways what everyone else said. I'd use the power for your A/F, but, personal preference is I like the voltmeter to come on with ACC, and any gauges related to engine to come on with IGN voltage. So, use something like the radio for voltmeter positive, and something like sunroof, wipers, etc.. for a/f gauge positive.
