3300 v6 swap to 3800 or tune 3300

Hi

My first post here. I have been wanting to get into the GM FWD stuff for a few years as my grandpa had a 91 Cutlass with a 3.1 V6. I had to mess around with it alot becasue the idle speed sensor always crapped out after a few years. Anyway one time the ABS on it saved my families life . So as a first time car I picked up a 93 Skylark with the 3300 engine. Since I see 3800 V6's all day at my local boneyard I have been looking at the similarities of the 2 engines. Frankly I don't know much about the engines but can the series 1 3800 be swapped in place of the 3300, or should I try something with the 3300 to pep it up??? If I do anything a bolt in swap would save me time as I have other projects to work on. I don't exactly like the 3sp trans in the buick now either.
Thanks for any info
Shawn

well if your looking for some extra power I'd got with the L67 Super Charged 3.8 I mean it's going to be alot of work to swap the motors and all but the Super Charged 3.8's are easy to mod and they make alot of performance parts for them
