Exclamation Big problem, please help

Ok. My car has never done this, but when I started it up this morning it was making this awful clicking noise. All gm pushrods, as far as I've seen, have made a very soft clicking noise when starting up, that's just how they are. However mine sounded 50 times louder today. Almost sounded like a damn diesel. And it has a hell of a time starting up when it is cold. I let it idle for 10 to 15 minutes, the noise goes away, and it drives fine..

What the hell??
please help

Well... similar thing happened to my g/f's sisters grand prix. It had the 3100 and it started leaking coolant (out the engine AND into the oil). They kept driving it like that and by the time 3 days went by the car had a spun bearing (or two or three) and we replaced the engine. Check your oil and make sure thats not where your coolant is going. Otherwise I don't know...

Coolant has taken over where the oil is supposed to be. Soon I will be just turning the damn thing on and watching it die. Hopefully it starts on fire like the one video of the CRX I watched. Anyways, soon to be a 3400 under the hood. So pissed right now.. time for some beer

tape it :goob:

throw some dirt and/or into the TB, start it up in nuetral with your foot to the floor and let it bounce off the rev limiter for about 15 seconds, I gaurantee some excitement.

Step 2: Post the video here :goob:

Probably a 100% chance of burning all the wires. :goob: I've seen a few videos of 3.1 MPFIs run without oil on purpose and held at the limiter and they all breifly caught on fire.

you usualy see alot of twin cams with spun berings not alot of 3.1, lifters mabye but they make a scartching/ ticking noise, and thier a random chatter, if its a constant ticking probaly piston slap.
