BlackJack's Turbo Update

Alright, it's been awhile since I first posted the thread about starting the turbo build. Now it's time for the next phase, wrapping it up. Over the next week I'll be posting here and there on the progress, up to completion.

First up, I had to box the battery in the trunk, NHRA rules...has to be sealed, and vented to the outside of the vehicle, and remote disconnect.

Next I'm getting the throttlebody ready to have the custom UIM made. TB is around 75mm. Just have to polish it and it's ready to go. Also pictured is the 80mm MAF, installed and tuned with new MAF tables.

Heads are installed now, and dammit I didn't take any pics of em, but I'm in a time crunch and couldn't wait to get access to the camera :(

Last for now is the headers. I got pics of em finally in tacked state, and they're being welded this coming week. Yes, they're V-band :)

No, germ at DonkeyPunchPerformance designed them. He's working up the x-over right now.

Seems kinda early to be closing the Test-in-tune strips... well after checking my local drag strip, it seems right on time. :p Last test and tune at Pacific Raceways was Aug 30.

I seem to remember it being later in the year than that.

Next up....P&P LIM. You can see it's been hogged out. I know, I know...I need to hit the whole thing with some degreaser...heh. Been burning the midnight oil getting this thing going. P&P heads are already installed, SI stainless valves, Manley 350# valve springs, molly pushrods, etc.



Painful, this is. Have to cut apart the injector harness and hand-wire in the new injectors. You can see the old stockers in the background (the little thin ones) versus the new 42.5# injectors installed in the rail. That's me assembling the clips in the pic.

Nice work man! Keep it up. Post these pics up in a photo gallery as well .. you can create an album for each step and it will be archived etc.

nice work...i once had a turbo for my 3100...too much work though...my focus has been switched to an m90
