Engine type?
Reason I'm on your site is I drive a Vectra 2.5 V6 which has a GM or GM designed engine in it. Over here its known as an X25XE. In GSi form they make 192 bhp standard. Tuning firms over here offer parts that'll take them up another 20bhp or so (n/a) Do you have the same design of engine, maybe under a different code? If so what sort of power can you get out of it? and how?? I see you have a 2.4 mentioned thought that may be the the same design? |

Ok just thought I'd ask. I think that the 2.2's are the same just wondered about the 2.5's. We have the 2.6 V6, 3.0 V6, 3.2 V6 also. Now we hear Vauxhall (GM's UK owned company) are launching a 2.8 Turbo Vectra VXR later this year 250 bhp, 161 mph
That may be a bit more interesting!! Thanks anyway. |

Danmuzicman: Thats right they are ecotec design, they are pretty old too! Was much tuning ever done on them over there? I believe a couple of guys from our site have supercharged them with parts from the states.

gm has a 2.0L supercharged motor for the cobalt ss and the ion redline, http://www.gm.com/automotive/gmpower...otec/index.htm http://www.saturnfans.com/Cars/ION/2...tecspecs.shtml your car is probaly the larger stroked engine i am guessing your cyl walls and to thin to forced inductions but i would search online for your motor. the ecotec are fairly new and are introduced over here as a new world platform for engine. they seem pretty spunky and my lil sis has a 2.2L and its pretty quick in her ion i drove a S/C version and it was nice, a bit rough but a typical low reving S/C engine. probaly do better turbo charged

The 2.2's over here are 4 cylinder's and usualy around 150 bhp mark.
The 2.5's are V6 are 192 bhp std. Thats the smallest V6 in the range over here. I'll have a look around and see if I can get some info on the s/c. Thanks. |

well the 2.5 are based off of the old serries III 3 liters over here we like to waste gas and be inifciant over where your at you all look for mostly economy and since your a small isle you really dont need a 400hp v8 so id look to see if your the same motor as our grand prix the 99 to 03.
