Thumbs up faster and louder...

okay, so i've posted 2 threads now and you guys actually have been a really good help. just found some more stuff..........check it out and tell me if they're good parts

1. MMS Custom Billet Camshaft Stage 2 ($429.99)
2. MMS Lightweight High Performance Chrome-Moly Pushrods ($134.99)
3. Sports Roller Tip Rocker Arms ($200)

OR....

4. 3400 Upper and Lower Intakes ($299.99)
5. MMS 3400 Powertrain Control Unit ($149.99)
6. Engine/Transmission Mount ($280)

....................if any of these will give my car a better sound and not too ridiculous, also w/o spending more than I should for extra HP. My bro says these would be nice but w/o a better exhaust system it wouldn't be worth it. Can you guys let me know, maybe you got some of this done to your car. I can only spend about $900.....just please let me know which parts if any I should get for around that much. THANKS, i'd love headers but yea too expensive, and borla or slp exhaust would be great, but just too much of a chunk out of my money. UNLESS, you guys say it'd be better to get an exhaust first.

OH ...and if i do see gains after putting on these parts....at the crank and at the wheel, if my car has 175hp...how much would it have then, and in torque??? anyone know, hopefully a good extra 20+ with a clean rumble

Honestly, with the cams you're looking at at least the same cost in install if not more. Unless you're planning on doing this on your own which I suggest in your case you do not.

What is your obsession with the engine/trans. mounts?? You're stock- you're not going to need these or feel any huge diff. if you install them. Like suggested in the other threads-

...intake, exhaust, headers and or PCM! Start basic!

those parts require alot of tuning on the pcm and alot of work installing. your car will be garaged more than its driven until you get it tuned just right.

go with what was suggested and lay off of these bigger items until your experience is up higher. plus these will add alot more power than 20hp, which you seem to be set on.

Intake, Exhaust, PCM First.
Then Headers. I know they are expensive, but after you have the first three the Headers will give you 20 HP on top of that. The stock exhaust maifolds are VERY restrictive.

On a mostly stock engine items 1-3 are next to worthless, and super expensive per HP. You should only use these when doing an engine build up.
Items 4-5 could net you some HP, but still very expensive per HP.
The Mounts are a good iday, BUT I'm sure you can get them cheeper than that.

ok thanks .....well it looks like i am just going to get the borla exhaust then.....lol i'm not obsessed i just thought it would be a nice gain on my car, but yea i'm not very experienced about cars, my bro and 2 friends of mine know a shitload about it so i've been asking them. my bro says exhaust, friend says nos, and other friend says gtp engine swap which i know i cannot do. so pry exhaust for now, i dont like how the slp looks UNLESS it's a better buy or gain, i know it's cheaper. and then pry intake, and somewhere down the line headers from the other guys. THEN after that, could i get some better parts? or do i still gotta do more....? thanks guys, looks like no camshaft or blah blah for me this time =( sounded like a cool idea tho

You do realize that at least in a matter of HP gain Borla = SLP? If you're worried about the SLP looks then just buy different tips and have them installed when you're getting everything else done.

Your best bet would be to go custom anyhow...most muffler shops should be able to hook you up with a custom catback system for less than even the SLP. Differences between a custom one and a manufactured one are negligible.

And for the intake, go to N-Body.net and check out the Tech/How-To section there. You can rig your own CAI for <$80 and it'll work exactly the same as any that you can buy.
