Help...WTF is the deal
ok...i am STILL having coolant issues...Somehow, I am getting all kinds of air in my coolant system and it is causing my thermostat not to open, therefore, making my car overheat. Depending on how much I drive it in a day, i sometimes have to bleed the air 1-2 times a day. Where in the hell is it getting all this air in the sytem from? Anyone with any advice?
thanks

not as far as I know...i have pretty much new everything, new radiator, close to new hosing...lim gasket isnt leaking, new heater core w/hoses. The only place I lose coolant is if the fucker overheats and it boils over...that's it

May be its a faulty thermostat? Or a clog somewhere?

someone explained to me that these are sealed systems if u put everything in yourself then u have air bubbles and that will cause ur system to overheat i learned that the hard way best bet is to go have ur system flushed professionally if u have orange coolant it will be like 69.99 and if its green it will be 49 to 59 depending on the shop. try that if that dont work then i dont know but sounds to me like there is air trapped in the radiator or hoses hence having to bleed it all the time. unless you have a cracked head gasket.

i had the coolant flushed and it seemed to work for a full weekend back in the beginning of june. Recently I noticed that when I would run the car for a short period of time, then even if the car was not up to temp yet, the coolant cap would seem to be releasing the smallest bit of air (small becuz the system wasnt highly pressurized) could it be that air is entering thru the cap also possibly because the overflow on the cap is shit? I just replaced the cap for shits anyway since it is only a couple of bux...will see if it works

more then likely it might be the cap. does ur fan kick on i know thats a dumb question but does it. i know my car over heated when i changed my rad. but when i put it back in some how i shorted the relay for the fan it was 20 bucks at advance auto. i put it on and the fan worked. i dunno man sounds wierd.

It also could be a head gasket leak. You might want to run a hydrocarbon test on the coolant fluid to see if anything might be leaking.

yes, my fan works...so far I have no signs of a crack/leak in the head gasket, however, it wouldnt hurt to have that test done, but I am running low on ideas after these few

ok start your car let it run to temp, open your rad fill it up, then run it some more until the level drops again repete until full. you probaly have alot of air or if the bottom of your rad is clogged you can get it. do you ever hear a hissing noise when the hood is open and the car is at temp?
