more seems to come out when its running.....or right when its parked just after it had been running for a while.....its weird...

I went to advance and got a new thermostat and gasket, so we will see if that helps....since it was only like 4 bucks.

the stupid bitch gave me the 3.1 gasket the first time tho, luckily i read the package before i left

but what the weirdest thing is....is it seems to be leakign more to the right sight of the engine bay now....

Yeah, I agree with urweak, I think it's the heater core becuase mine did the same thing, and when I took it to Scott (mechanic) he said it was the heater core.

my heater core went on my car just before i parked it for winter, tho mine leaked inside the drainbox inside the car and fogged up the inside of my windshield. the shitass stock heater core is half plastic. the to and from tubes are plastic and half of the core is plastic on one side of the fins....also, my water pump went the beginning of last summer(granted i have a 3100) it leaked slowly but noticebly, idk how a 2.4 would react......also, when my heater core went....it went all at once, there was no chance to drive it home, i had to trailer it

The last 2.4 water pump repair I know about was a buddy of mine in Vegas in his '97 SE coupe, and it cost him like $185 or so - and the guy came to HIM and did it in the driveway. Didn't seem to be all THAT hard.

thats why i wouldnt fuck with..i do like diving into the engine bay too much....i like my car ruinning perfect...but heythats my opinion...if you wanna go at it go for...it really isnt that hard, i helped a friend with his water pump, and it took forever, we actually had to remove the motor mounts and lift the engine about 2 inchs... and we had a mechanice freidn but the timing chains back on right, to make sure they were lined up properly....

it was really just tim consuming, noting to bad besides the timing...

im not too worried about the timing....the haynes tells how to check it by the crank and if its off, i know a friend who can time it correctly for me.

One way to tell if it's the heater core is to let you engine get warmes up and turn on the heat, if you have steam coming out of the vents, it's the heater core.

don't let the timing intimidate you... once you get in there and have a good idea of what you need to do its NOT that bad

when my core went that never happened. i turned on the heat full blast to try and cool the engine down, and never got smoke to come out of the vents.
