oil pressure
yeah i hace a 1993 grand am gt with 2.3l dohc and my oil pressure gauge sits real low whrn the car is idling but goes up when the revs go up what could be the problem any help would be great thanks
oh yeah were can i get some performance parts and if i can turbo charge it

How low is low? Oil pressure is going to be lower at idle then it is when revving up. Oil pump is powered by your belt which is in direct relation to your motor.... The faster your motor is turning the faster your oil pump is turning.... Higher the RPM's the higher the oil pressure. If your getting less then 40 psi's at idle I would think you might have an issue...

your oil pressure sending unit could be going bad, um, on the 2.4L its on the inside camshaft cover, i dont know where its on the 2.3L i didnt know that motor to bad. if the sending unit goes bad it will spray oil all over the place, before mine went bad on the ole grand am it did the same thing, low oil during idle then jump, on the TA lol it goes back and forth but thats cuz its a big ass motor.
