i was looking at the Secret Cam Swap info, but i dont understand the specs of the cams. could someone explain what all that means. "The Stock 2.4 has 198 degrees @ .050" with .354" lift." what does that mean?

that is the specs of the stock cams like how much shape and stuff the lobes have on them. That is the best I know how to explain them. I am sure Scottie can clairfy this for us.

Josh

oh, this is gonna be hard to put into words...
you DO know what cams look like right? basically bars with lobes on them?

198 degrees duration at .050" = while the cam spins, when the lifter isn't "lifting" and the valve is closed its because the lobe of the cam is not yet touching the lifter, just the round part. when the raised up lobe starts to roll and pushes the lifter down five hundredths of an inch, then the lobe will still be on the lifter for another 198 degrees of rotation, hence, 198 degrees duration @ .050" is a measure of how long the cam will keep the valves open.

.354" lift is what it sounds like: its basically how tall the peak of the cam lobes are, and how wide it will lift the valves open. high lift equals tall lobe peak equals valves that open up wider to flow more air (to an extent)
