Here you go quick rundown. turbos are more efficent because they are not belt driven. anything driven by a belt on your engine creates a load which draws power but with a supercharger the effect is usally minimal. however superchargers create constant boost while turbos have to spool before boost is created. in your case because I dont think there is enough room in your engine for the turbo and related plumbing I would go with a supercharger. they both do the same thing but in different ways. it comes down to preferance.

oh yeah as far as price its about 4,400 dollers for the supercharger kit. 3500 dollers for the turbo kit and these are rough prices acoording to some retailers. the turbo kit looks alot harder to install.

^^Like he said, I have heard that the turbo kit is much harder to install and tune and make run well. While the supercharger kit (RSM) is easier to install and tune. If you are going for easiest then stick with the supercharger.

Also turbochargers produce more power-robbing heat compared to superchargers

the rsm is the easiest SC to get ahold of for the 3400, there are some eaton's out there but last i heard there were only 50 of 'em, so you have to look hard to find one that fits the 3400. best bet is to be a member on alot of gm forums and wait for somebody to part out their car.

I did not think there were even that many eatons made. Last I heard I thought all of the eatons were accounted for.

turbochargers do not create heat, the exhaust gases are where the heat comes from.

I would go with a turbocharger. The RSM kit is junk. There are a few places that sell turbo kits for the 3400

thats what i said. the exhaust side of the turbo produces the heat, therefore turbos produce heat

the turbo itself doesnt not produce the heat. But it does transfer the heat from the exhaust gas into the turbo.

Actually, the act of compressing air makes heat, not matter if it's a turbo or supercharger doing it. The exhaust heat only adds to that.

Intercooling/aftercooling benefits both SC and turbo.
