Transmission Replacement
So.....My trans has been giving me issues for about 6 months (this was my second trans, original went out about 8 months ago). Now about a week and a half ago, the torque converter started being goofy (jumping out of gear), so in short...it took a shit:banghead:
Now friday, i found a trans. with 45k on it for 180 bux, so i went and picked it up and threw it in this weekend, i took friday afternoon, saturday morning, and all of sunday to replace it. I thought I did pretty good considering i did this whole thing by myself with no car lift. I know this thread is kinda pointless, but changing the tranny was a pretty big confidence booster for me. Thanks for listening, lol:beer:

Well, couldnt be too much harder than what I have done to this car in the past month. But, no...3400 will come a bit later, I am taking care of all the show aspects before the GO, so...maybe someday

i hated putting the new one back into the car. My Haynes manual said to use 2 other people to help stabilize and position the install, so obviously one person isnt really sufficient....but oh well, piss on it, it is done and over with

What I did was use a jack with a block of wood under it, put the tranny on that, slid it under the car and use the wood to move it around and spin it, with the jack to raise and lower it. It worked out pretty damn good.
