Unhappy Y did everyone forget the 3300

It seems noone else sees the potential in these motors except me. Or if anyone does i can't find shit for this motor. if anyone knows where i can get a turbo or anything for this engine please let me know. It is starting to piss me off a little, just seeing a damn good engine design just simply being forgotten...................................... REVIVE THE 3300

The motor has potential concidering it's a de-stroked 3800 series I. The problem with this motor is the 3 speed tranny that came with it. The gears are just too tall. The only advice I can give you is to contact Zooomer from ZZperformance as he strictly deals with 3800's (generally series II & III) and is very experienced with that motor. See if he can help you out any....it's worth a shot. zooomer@aol.com

You could put intake manifolds from a 3800 on, but hood clearance is a problem in that case. And like D said the three speed is geared WAY too tall. I had a 93 GA... o wait... do you have the 4t60 in the buick? I thought they used 4 speeds in some of them... but then again was the 4t60 around in 1990? Intake / exhaust and some parts from a 3800... maybe even headers idk...

4t60 was around since the 80's I belive. I think most A-bodies had the 4-speed although I think there were a couple Ciera's with the 3-speed. Hood clearence shouldn't be a problem in the Buick. My dad has the 3800 in his Ciera. The problem for you is that all the aftermarket parts are made for the series II 3800 so not all the parts work for example, the exhaust ports aren't the same so you can't use the SLP or TOG headers.

you can't use the intake or the exhaust because the 3300 has a lower deck height and the intake won't fit between the heads and the exhaust crossover won't allow it either however you could modifiy the exhaust when you change it for a turbo flange. But on more realistic terms you can use the valvetrain from a 3800 series 1 for roller rockers and a more stable valvetrain all you need to mod is the roller fulcrum by enlarging the the mounting hole with a 3/8 drillbit then port and polish the heads back cut the valves 30 degrees and use beehive springs and if your going to turbo get a series 1 sc cam and it has some solid potential

YES. OMG yes. i love this motor. it has so much potential...

i drove my friends 3300 and was amazed by the torque it had. imho it blows the 3100 away. but first gear went up to over 50!!! the car basically hauled up to 30... then pooped out... i was so sad. i wanted it to keep pulling and pulling...

it would be great if a 5 speed where on it... mwahaha.

i wonder if an hm284 would bolt on... or a v6 bellhousing hm282 ... it may work in a 3300 grand am if the bellhousing is the same as the 60degv6... get some hardware from a 1994-1994 getreg equipped quad 4 grand am, i would guess shift cables, shifter, axles, hydraulic clutch assembly (or maybe a hydraulic clutch assembly from a 5spd V6 getrag car) and shift pedal... make yer own mounts... maybe yer own flywheel too unless the 60degV6 5-speed flywheel will bolt onto the 3300 crank...

that would haul ASS...

k when i'm done with the grand am this will be my next project. MWAHAHA.
