My 1992 Formula
Hey, it's worth a try right? So you wanna know about my baby, here you go:
I bought this car, a 1992 Pontiac Firebird Formula, last year, June 2005. When I first bought her, she needed a lot of work, ran poorly and needed some TLC as far as looks went. So I started off with maintenance, repairs, and performance. She has a 305 cid TBI, so I took off the stock air cleaner housing and added an Edelbrock chrome air cleaner intake and a K&N air cleaner. I bought the Accell 8mm superstock red ignition cables (spark plug wires) that I had to "make" myself, you know how that goes, along with the Accell cap and rotor, and ofcourse Delco platinum plugs. Put in a 160 degree thermostat with a SS housing. Instead of listing everysingle repair I made or general maintenance, I will just let you know of the important stuff. Alright, so the headlights didnt go up and down, so instead of buying each headlight motor for $80 each, I bought the rebuild kit and rebuilt them myself for $12. Now they work perfect. I put in MOOG sway bars and links, lower ball joints, idler arm, pittman arm,... I ordered and put on BFGoodrich Radial T/A 255/60/15 tires on her gold snowflake TA rims. Got a high flow catalytic convertor, 2.5" SS exhaust pipes to dual 80 series Flowmaster with 3.5" SS Wicked angled cut tips. She's got a 342 positrac rearend. Damn, I can't remember everything, lol. Alright, looks~ Tint, alarm, AIWA hideaway stereo system, beautiful gold firebird on rear hatch window, wet sanded and buffed out the paint then painted the ground effects, front bumper, side mirrors, door moldings, & rear spoiler all high gloss black. The interior is perfect, the dash board doesnt have a crack at all, the t-tops dont leak, no stains anywhere at all. I just cleaned it up really. Okay, I know after I post this I'm going to remember more stuff, but that's okay. There's a lot of good cars on here, but I think mine should win because it's different. It's not that often you run into a 14 year old Formula in perfect condtion. Well, now I'm going to let her pictures do the talking, and u did say post as many pictures as I can so here goes....(I'll try not to go overboard, but we did just do a photoshoot a couple of days ago, enjoy!)
Now that u already took a look at the finished product and what she looks like now, I'll let you check out a few pictures of her in the beginning. I wish I had taken a picture of the engine at first, it was a mess! I had to scrub for hours, but it was well worth it!
So as you can see, I first started with the engine, then did the looks...
Well here is one more reminder of what my baby looks like as of today...

Thank you, I put a lot of time, work, money, love, sweat, blood, and tears into her, there is no way I would ever sell my car. I don't see any reason to anyways, she's paid off, runs wonderful, and in 6 more years will be a Classic. Oh, and I thought GrandAm guy knew it was my car, lol, hey, I guess I will take that as a compliment then! It's so funny how many times on here I have already been mistaken for a guy, but like I said before, it just means that I am doing a good job on my car, so I won't take it in a wrong way or anything. I think it's funny.

My mom has been a mechanic for almost 20 years now. She taught me every thing I know about cars/engines and building them. I built a Chevy Red (orange) 67 Camaro 327ci, fuelie 202/220 heads and powerglide with her when I was 10 (that I'm working on buying back), 56 Belair Nomad w/ a 400 small block and 4spd rock crusher when I was 15. She had a 59 Caddy and a 56 Chevy 210 w/ a 396bb too when I was growing up. Most people build cars with their dads lol

That's exactly how I want to be with my children one day, (If I ever decide to have any) I want to teach them everything about cars and automotive and racing. I'm almost done with my Ass. Deg. in Automotive, just finished registering for Summer and Fall, it's going to be so much fun. It's awesome that my hobby is now my career. I've worked for small independant shops and for Dealerships as a tech, I prefer independant shops, bc at Dealerships you're just an employee number. But yeah, if I ever get married, I want my honeymoon to be going to a Nascar race at Talladega!! Wouldn't that be awesome!!?? I am soooo the Anti-Barbie, haha, tomboy all the way, and I love it! I love coming home completely filthy in grease and oil, I love hard work, and I love feeling like I actually accomplished something at the end of the day.

So what other plans do you have for your car? Are you doing the domestic sport compact almost import thing?
