My 97 GAGT, 2 LD9s later... (not 56K friendly)

Yea, 2 engines, one car and one stubborn dirver (hey thats me)

I refused to give up on this car once I spun bearing #3, and I dropped a completely remanned '98 LD9 into it. The only piece that remain from the the old engine is the intake mani, exhaust mani, IDI cover, plugs, and accessories.

It WAS clean, but its been raining a bit, so these pics were from earlier on this year (jan-feb IIRC)

Unfortuneately not, I took the slacker way out (it was may 05 when I put the ne w one in, I was almost don with school but I needed a car to get back and forth for the last few weeks - so I just got the remanned long block, threw on my accessories an hoses/wires in one weekend (the brake booster, clutch slave/master cylinders/transmission/battery/radiator all stayed in the car) then the next weekend I dropped the engine in, made sure everything was torqued to factoy specs (thank you haynes manual, the only thing you are useful for, the torque specs) - once we got the engine down securely, I took it out for a test drive promptly - found the huge upper motor mount was destroyed, and I bought an aftermarket replacement on the cheap. Later I broke that one as well as 1 more aftermarket cheapos before I realized I hsould have bought one from the gmpartdirect or a dealership at the very start. I didnt have time for gmpartsdirects slooooooow shipping time so I made myway to the nearest GM stealership and got one for about twice as mucha s i paid for the flimsy aftermarket unit. It hasnt broken yet so Id say I didnt eveything right.

about 5 oil changes later now it still runs like its brand new, except the tranmission whines and groans sometimes, I believe its on its last legs (however this weekend ill be flushing the trans and getting some fresh trans oil in there.)
