June 2006 GMOTM - Formula92
What a tight compeition we had this month! The contest was close until the end when Formula92 broke away and pulled ahead, eventually winning GMOTM for June 2006!
I would like to personally congratulate everyone who was a finalist, you all had amazing rides! The contest will be starting up again and all past entries are considered as well as new entries.
Now, some information about this months winner!
I bought this car, a 1992 Pontiac Firebird Formula, last year, June 2005. When I first bought her, she needed a lot of work, ran poorly and needed some TLC as far as looks went. So I started off with maintenance, repairs, and performance. She has a 305 cid TBI, so I took off the stock air cleaner housing and added an Edelbrock chrome air cleaner intake and a K&N air cleaner. I bought the Accell 8mm superstock red ignition cables (spark plug wires) that I had to "make" myself, you know how that goes, along with the Accell cap and rotor, and ofcourse Delco platinum plugs. Put in a 160 degree thermostat with a SS housing. Instead of listing everysingle repair I made or general maintenance, I will just let you know of the important stuff. Alright, so the headlights didnt go up and down, so instead of buying each headlight motor for $80 each, I bought the rebuild kit and rebuilt them myself for $12. Now they work perfect. I put in MOOG sway bars and links, lower ball joints, idler arm, pittman arm,... I ordered and put on BFGoodrich Radial T/A 255/60/15 tires on her gold snowflake TA rims. Got a high flow catalytic convertor, 2.5" SS exhaust pipes to dual 80 series Flowmaster with 3.5" SS Wicked angled cut tips. She's got a 342 positrac rearend. Damn, I can't remember everything, lol. Alright, looks~ Tint, alarm, AIWA hideaway stereo system, beautiful gold firebird on rear hatch window, wet sanded and buffed out the paint then painted the ground effects, front bumper, side mirrors, door moldings, & rear spoiler all high gloss black. The interior is perfect, the dash board doesnt have a crack at all, the t-tops dont leak, no stains anywhere at all. I just cleaned it up really.
Again, congratulations to Formula92. You have done an amazing ride on your car and it's condition for a 14 year old car is truly amazing! Keep up the good work and we are proud to have you on GMPT.

Thanks!!!
Hey Jason and everyone, thank you sooo much! The other finalists really do have amazing cars and I feel really lucky to have won. Here a few other pictures that are a little newer of my car, I think these look better of her. Plus, these are the pics of her with her new black racing stripes. Hope you like!

Yep!
Ricefed: I would be honored to paint such a beautiful Camaro *sigh* I miss mine so much! Now just get your rear end down here to CC!
FBOD383: Speaking of CC, yes you're right, down on Ocean/Shoreline Drive, right before Cole Park. It's looking beautiful down here and C-sculptures was amazing I heard. I couldn't go because of my new tattoos, but no loss, I wouldn't take my car anyways, and I don't trust to ride in my drunken friends' cars, lol. And thanks for the congrats too!

I had the chance to drive on the beach at Dayonta this year in an Expedition. Thought I would give it a little gas backing up and it dug down so deep I nearly got stuck .. hahaha ..

Beach
Yeah, I don't mind going to the beach, but it's overrated for me since I've lived here my whole life. And I have never taken any of my cars to the beach either. One, of course I will get stuck, and two, no matter how much you clean it, you can never get ALL the sand out of all the cracks and crevices, and also, I'm not taking any chance on my car rusting away. I have no rust at all right now, and I don't want any either. Okay, so maybe I baby my car a little too much, but that's why it's still running and looking great after 14 years when most third gens are pieces of crap rustbuckets (only because the owners let them get that way). So FBod, I thought you were going to come down here for c-sculptures, what happened?
