3.9 Swap In An N-Body

Anybody know about swapping an '06 3.9 from an Impala into an N-Body? It's a 60 degree V6, so I wouldn't think it would be super difficult to replace a 3400 with one. It'd be nice to have 242 HP before any mods.

Re: 3.9 Swap In An N-Body

its a VVT engine... and i don't really know how the VVT is controlled. you definately would have to do some kind of harness and ECM swap... then you would have to worry about the electronics in your car working with the new ECM.

it may be easier to drop a 3500 in, the are not VVT, 200 hp and 220 torque... pretty much a redo of the 3400, just with electronic throttle control. you'd have to do a TB swap for sure. i think you should just have to do a few other minor changes here and there so it will work with your current hardware.

I think I'll just build the 3400 that's in there. Easier and cheaper I'm sure...

3500 with a reluctor wheel, 3400 TB and adapter and it will work fine.
