3100 questions

Man...I thought this thread would be dead...lol Wats up everyone. Well, i purchased a cobalt ls shortly after my monte died with hopes of turbo charging it one day. My 98 monte Ls is now at the shop awaiting a motor. Problem is i'm still undecided on what to do! I know a junkyard special is not gonna cut it. And there is no way on earth i'm gonna pay $700 for used motor. Any of you guys know a motor source on the net that is dependable and reasonable at the same time? Also is there a cam available for the 3100 that can run off stock ecu and injectors??? Thanks

Check out Jasper engines. All the good local shops around here use them.

well for some performance on a 3100 i suggest hitting up WOT-Tech: 60V6 Performance they have plenty of parts such as camshafts for turbocharged or N/A, manifold pieces and i do believe this site might have something for ya if your car is a j styled body. You can get a full upgraded ignition with MSD blaster packs, Taylor Spiro Pro 8mm plug wires and NGK iridium IX plugs, take off the EGR Valve covor lines and put air breathers on them, you can register on The BEST Source For All Your GM 60ºV6 Needs and find a guy with the name GPchris, ask him about a downpipe that kills the cat. on OEM they can get you a set of custom headers built but will take some time to make. from WOT TECH they can program your chip to turn off the EGR, i believe tey can even work with some shift points, top speed, idle RPMS... etc.
