3400 Intake
LIM gasket just snapped. Does anyone know if the 3400 intake on the mini-vans has longer runners for more torque? I'd read this, but didn't if was true. Has anyone ported the IM w/o any other engine mods to know how much difference this would make?

The 3400 upper\lower intake manifold is identical between the 3400 Cars and Vans.
The Exhaust manifold and intake tract (the plastic parts) are different. Yes, smoothing out the ports will help out performance (a little), but not much because the stock Exhaust manifold is so restrictive. A set of headers does wonders on these cars. Hope you get your ride back up and running soon.

I’ve ported a few sets. It makes a slight difference in the sense of throttle response and over all performance. By gasket matching the intake ports you increase volume and reduce turbulence in the intake manifold. With a larger throttle body and headers there is a noticeable power recovery.
