3800 series I performance parts

Hello everyone,

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I am new to GMPT but, I've been working on GMs for years. Anyway I am banging my head against the wall trying to find much in the way of performance parts for the series I. My new ride is a 1992 Oldsmobile Toronado and I'd like to give it the power it should have had from the factory. I'd appreciate anything you know of.

Re: 3800 series I performance parts

something I forgot, I am planning a turbo setup on this car eventualy so any help with that would be good. Anyone ever done a 3800 turbocharged engine? What would the max horsepower (originally 170) at around 12psi of boost be, assuming a rebuild to support that level of boost.

Welcome to the site, glad to have you! I have the 3800 Series II in my car, but it's currently undergoing some work. I'm not the gear head myself but I know Jeff (PontiacJeff on this site) over at Engineered.net is a master tuner of these babies!

Re: 3800 series I performance parts

little late, but 3800 turbos are getting pretty popular here late. most of which is done with the series 2 motor. it might be worth while to do a swap to the l67 motor, and look into a turbo kit from www.zzperformance.com

all is def. do-able if your pocketbook can handle it :)

Hello,

Remove the series one and drop in a III SC. Then remove the Sc and install a T66 Turbo. That will surprise a few people.
