3800 Supercharged GTP INtake/Exhaust
I have a 04 GTP CompG and am looking to do a intake and exhaust system, it has been my opinion in the past that Flowmasters although wonderful on muscle cars are not the best for fuel injected applications, but I have been told for a blown car, it could be the best, and I am having a hard time swallowing this, because I would think a straight through system would be better for air flow. DOes anyone have any real experience that I Can vibe off of.
Any suggestions for an intake?

Re: 3800 Supercharged GTP INtake/Exhaust
flowmasters suck cat backs dont get much power on pretty much stock 3800's my recomendation is a downpipe first, high flow cat, and later on down the line some headers but for now a 2.5in downpipe would help you the most and for a little over a hundred bucks who could beat that
check these links

Re: 3800 Supercharged GTP INtake/Exhaust
Finally someone comes through...thank you.
I just got the mods listed on my signature, what do you think about the down pipe I have listed? I am in Ca so that limits my choices as well when it comes to legal.

Re: 3800 Supercharged GTP INtake/Exhaust
yea i would go for 3in downpipe with the mods until you drop down to a 3.0 pulley. Otherwise get the 2.5 DP like i said earlier its one of the best bang for the buck mods to do on 3800's

Re: 3800 Supercharged GTP INtake/Exhaust
If you're running with the 3.4" now you need to get the air flow mods on quickly so that high KR doesn't take out your engine. Did you scan your engine before and after changing pulleys to see the difference in KR?

Re: 3800 Supercharged GTP INtake/Exhaust
as far as flow and sound get spintech mufflers they sound outrageous and flow very close to straight through mufflers. they sound good on V6 motors as well. i've heard the way some 3800's have sounded with the wrong muffler, it sounds rice... with a spintech you should have a nice grumble.
