I removed it from my '96 GA (3100 V6) and it def didn't HURT anything. I would say it could've added to the additonal low-end torque from my cat-back too...
I'd DEF recommend removing it though- it serves no "VALUABLE" purpose whatsoever. It's mainly to 'resonate' the sound/quiet it down... which is doesn't do TOO much of anyway. I thought removing it would be this big difference but it wasn't.

i know 3800's sund like ass with flowmasters, and for the money magnaflow or hooker are better options over that chambered POS flowmaster
