Re: Help Needed

i'm not too sure on the gauge cluster, but besides that

you can get a CAI or short ram, order ported/polished UIM/LIM, a larger throttle body and ported heads/worked heads.
If you have a decent performance shop around you you could have a set of better flowing headers made as well. A more aggressive cam should follow the heads. The aspiration mods will most likely require stiffer valve springs as well.

A bigger problem for you will be tuning for these mods. As the Powertunr has just been discontinued, you're either left to find one used or to buy HPTuners.
If you can find a shop around you with an appropriate tuner, you're in luck (but i'm not even sure that one is made for that engine/car. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong everyone.)

most of the parts listed here can be found at
WOT-Tech
and
Milzy Motorsports - American Muscle, Reborn

Some other things you could consider are a crank scraper and lighter pushrods.

If it's in your budget, I've seen a 3.1 somewhere with an Eaton M62 blower on it, so I guess that's a possibility. If you go into boost over 8 psi you're going to need forged internals or risk blowing a piston.

A possible problem area for you will also be the transmission. I'm not too sure on whether the lumina was equipped with a 4t40 or a 4t60 auto tranny, but you're sure to run into trouble with the 4t40 (if you are equipped with one) if you do any extensive modding.

That's all I can come up with off of the top of my head, and there's probably a few more things that others can add.

Re: Help Needed

Forget About Cluster I Tried One And Didn't Work...Going For A RPM Clock...
I Did My Own Intake Just Now Homemade!!! And From Now On... I'm Going For The Manifolds...Then On To The Transmission Who Has Shown Some Wear...My Car Came With The 4T60e Transmission...Milzy Motorsports Is Going to Sell Me A 4T65eHD Transmission With Everything Needed For The Conversion Since It Will Not Fit Right, It Includes Everything I Will Need, Don't Have To Buy Even A Cable! About The Blower...I'm Going for a Turbocharger 7 Or 8 Psi Going For A Garret Set Up...Going To Put About $10.000 In It...HEHEHE See What That Does...But My Priority Is The Manifolds And The Transmission. We'll See...If The Tranny Doesn't Fail Me I'll Go For Manifolds.

Re: Help Needed

well that's good about the tranny, it'll definitely hold up a lot better than my 4t45 (spider gear went a week ago)

Good luck on the turbo, but why do the exhaust manifolds if you're going to get a turbo anyways? Or did you mean turbo manifolds to go with the turbo? Or maybe LIM/UIM?

Forged internals would still be a good idea for boost (just for extra security). At 8 psi you're looking at around +80-90 hp at the crank (correct me if i'm wrong) which will definitely put you into the 14's.

10 grand will definitely cover everything you need to do, engine build and turbo combined.
Tuning is going to still be a major factor. Like I said, unless you have your own tuner for the specific car (and I haven't actually heard of tuning software for the lumina/3100 although I'm sure it exists somewhere) you're going to have to find someone that can tune it for you, otherwise you're just going to kill your motor.

Also, I'm pretty sure Milzy can get a 3400 (or even 3500) motor out to you.
