help with some tuning :)

hey all i just picked up a 92 grand prix SE 3.1L, its used and from what i can tell kept in pretty good condition there are a few minor things i gotta fix like body work and what not but i what i would really like to do is tune it. i wanna try to get as good gas millage as i can but still have the power that the 3.1L 6 cylinder offers and make it look cool, so any help with like what to do or were to get stuff for it would be much appreciated! thanks later on.

Lots of things you can do but it's going to depend on your budget. Generally, with any car I am going to tune, I always like to look at the exhaust and work my way up to the engine. I threw Flowmaster 40 series on my GAGT and loved them. However, when you get into hard car tuning trying to find a happy median with gas mileage as well can be tricky.

yea i want to start with the exhaust as well i want a nice deep tone like the old school muscle cars had cause i hate the "rice burner" winning sound lol. the only thing is i dont know what manufacturer will give me that tone.

flowmaster and magnaflow, regardless of what you have put on, you will get some high rpm whine due to the 6 cyl, i have a 3400 with a flowmaster 80 series highflow cat and 2.5" piping and at idle it bellows v8 but under high rpm load it gets a rasp to it. but i also run headers which may have an effect on the high rpm tone.
