Actually plans may have changed, the turbos are going on right away even with the high static compression (my cam bleeds a lot of it off, dcr is much lower). Going with the stock GM OBD1 ECM and $59 code.

Re: LT1 eating V6?
Well it started out I wanted 250whp N/A (LT1 numbers), and then I was going to move onto reinstalling the boost, but I'm too impatient. The motor as it sits should have more than that, and a pair of to4e's are going on. Just need a few more parts to make it a reality in the vehicle :D

Re: LT1 eating V6?
OK, got the 3.1 block back in for test fitting the headers...
![]() Put some spare 3400 heads and manifolds on... ![]() ![]() Just wish the materials were here, I would have started them today :(

Re: LT1 eating V6?
Put in an L67 with a ported M90...N* TB and LS1 Maf...run a 3.2 pulley and bye bye LT1 cars. Put on an intercooler, rockers and a 2.9" pulley...and bye bye LS7's...
I had a 2002 GTP that ate LT1's for breakfast with 4 people in it. In that car, it would fly even better. Nice project...have fun.

Re: LT1 eating V6?
Pound for pound the 60* V6 puts out more power than the L67 ;)
The 3500 has already been proven to make over 300hp with a cam, headers and porting without forced induction. The origional idea was to make a 3.4 with similar power, and would be much faster in a RWD than the current Cavilier (the 300hp 3500 runs a 13.1) with the RWD and exceptional fbody suspension. The 3500 heads flow (in stock form) almost as good as the StageIII Abbott heads, and they weigh a mere 42lbs with both manifolds, have the fast burn chambers and canted valves, and the 3800 is phased out by GM. That would be taking a step backwars with tecnology. The 3.6DOHC has replaced the 3800 in the new Camaro and makes over 300hp and 270tq o.o With the original iron head motor would beat LT1's, but again that was forced induction. This motor is recieveing 2 to4e turbos, and the goal of 500whp should be obtainable. Thanks for the nice comments. -john

Food for thought...lol. I would not want to see you do all that work to get walked by a modded GTP sedan....

Re: LT1 eating V6?
Yes, however the L67 numbers are horsepower at the wheels. The 3500 numbers are at the crank. That is a huge difference.

Re: LT1 eating V6?
Swapped the rear out of an '85 T/A, and also the exhaust while I was at it. The rear is a 9 bolt Borg Warner with disk brakes, the exhaust is a 3" Dynomax cat-back.
Enjoy... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: LT1 eating V6?
![]() ![]() ![]() The previous owner of the T/A told me it was a Dana 40, but oh well. The 3.45 posi is better than the 3.23 open, and I got disk brakes to boot. Took about 7hrs working by myself, with many breaks, including one that was about 1 hr long - soccer try outs for my 9yr old was today, and she would have been dissapointed if I didn't go, lol. She hung for a while today, then the two boys came out and watched for a bit. They all love watching the car being worked on. My 3yr old has known what a turbo is for the last 1.5 yrs haha. Now, to get spacers to run the 11" wide Drag-Lites, the 'Bird will have traction!!!
