need some silicone/intake help
My factory intake tube has a crack; it's sucking air in near the connection to the TB. Trying to seal it has been a lost cause. I believe a new silicone elbo is the way to go. The O.D. of the throttle body connection is 3.75". Should I get a 4" elbow and clamp it down, or get a 3.75" elbow and just slide it on?
After I get a proper hose on there, I will have to find a way to hook my IAT sensor to it. I think I will take the female end of the connector of the factory tube, and graft it onto the new silicone hose, using RTV to seal it up. Does that sound like the right way to do it? Lastly, I will need to get a filter attached to the hose. Ultimately, I would like to build a new air box using various 3.1 and 3.8 air boxes I have. (The factory 3.8 box does not fit in my engine compartment.) For the time being, I will probably just clamp on the ricey warm air intake I have on there right now. Any better ideas?

I'd likely try and find another hose like that one.
On the other hand you could get the 3.75" elbo. Just drill a 1/2" hole in it and stick the IAT in. You'll probably want to stay away from the 4"

That is a 3800 V6 so i would check out "www.moradpartscompany.com" for a stock replacment or look on www.clubgp.com for how to make a good CAI You can also find Ed morad on E-bay.
