My factory intake tube has a crack; it's sucking air in near the connection to the TB. Trying to seal it has been a lost cause. I believe a new silicone elbo is the way to go. The O.D. of the throttle body connection is 3.75". Should I get a 4" elbow and clamp it down, or get a 3.75" elbow and just slide it on?
After I get a proper hose on there, I will have to find a way to hook my IAT sensor to it. I think I will take the female end of the connector of the factory tube, and graft it onto the new silicone hose, using RTV to seal it up. Does that sound like the right way to do it?
Lastly, I will need to get a filter attached to the hose. Ultimately, I would like to build a new air box using various 3.1 and 3.8 air boxes I have. (The factory 3.8 box does not fit in my engine compartment.) For the time being, I will probably just clamp on the ricey warm air intake I have on there right now. Any better ideas?
