Well, I just want to know anytrhing that is out there, I have searched hard and been calling some shops around my aera they don't have the slightest clue to where to find any at. So, really just any parts are good, I really want to put headers on it and a cold air intake.

do some checking around, but if that's the 90* 3.1, then the 2.8 parts should fit which are plentiful. Dual timing chain is one thing that comes to mind. Good place to check is Fiero sites.

According to various sources, looks like it could be the 60 degree V6, probably the LG6 model.
If it is the 60 degree, yeah, you're pretty much hosed on performance availability. Consider an upgrade to a 3400 (3.4L) V6 from a newer model, I'm sure the MPFI can be adapted. I can show you performance goodies galore for that one.

if it is 60 degree would these parts be compatible. http://60degreev6.com/store/index.ph...d&productId=23
http://60degreev6.com/store/index.ph...d&productId=54 http://60degreev6.com/store/index.ph...od&productId=5 http://60degreev6.com/store/index.ph...d&productId=33 Do you think that would be enough to feel a difference, also a cold air intake if I can find one. I'm 14, please don't think of me as a child it really sucks when people think of me as a child and assume I don't know anything. My dad is one experienced GM mofo, lol. I'm not sure if I could swap engines with my budget, but on the other side I need a new air damn, hood, and FR fender, could I just go to a slvage yard and buy a I.E. 92 3.4 grand prix. I have already thought of buying a donor car anyway. Last edited by Shaun; 01-05-2007 at 01:27 AM. |

I wouldn't. If you're going to go through buying another vehicle just to get parts, might as well go ahead and get a 3800 (3.8L) powered Gran Prix GT from 1997 or newer. You can go alot faster with less money invested.

I'm not sure. but can anyone tell me if those parts I listed will make a noticble difference I really want to stay with my current car. I still can't find a cold air intake.

The chip will work, and the rocker arms. There is a thread on 60degreev6.com in the performance pushrod section I believe on the 1.6:1 ratio rocker install. The throttle body is for gen 3 motors and the heads are as well. Now you can do a gen 3 top end swap on a 3.1 but the chip will need to be redone. There aren't any hybrid chips available without having someone tune the car.
The 3400 swap would be the way to go, or you could get a 3500 engine and do some modifications. I used to have a 3.1 in my 91 grand prix but have the 3.4 DOHC now. Most people are afraid of that motor, or think its a big pile of crap. Its not for novices and requires some special tools. Your stock trans won't like the 3.4 DOHC either.
