Transmission help please
driving on the highway the other day and my check engine light came on at the same time my temp gauge was increasing i was going about 65 with the rpm's around 4500 so i slow down to 55 and get in the slow lane and the car does better and the temp goes down get to where im going and check coolant and its ok, look under car for any fluid leaking, nothing so i drive it back home carefully and no problems other than the check engine light on take it to my dad and he pulls the code and its p1870, transmission slippage after doing some researchi found this is a common problem but found no real diagnosing fo the problem alot of people just went ahead and replaced the transmission some people went in and replaced the some parts i really dont want to sink anymore money into this car since i just drive it to shows and it sits in my garage until the next show i found that there is a company, sonnax, that alot of people have used for replacement parts it was explained to me that the heat the transmission is creating is whats causing my enigne to get so hot at high temp im just looking for some guidance or at least a push in a more inexpensive direction , thanks |
