cadilac to pontiac swaps?????

i have a 1988 pontiac formula with a 5.0l v8 the fuel injected module TPI its the LO3 version puts out abot 170 hp stock from factory specks i have a 1969 cadilac with the 472cu in engine carberated version and was wondering if the two are swapable will fit or if the engine mounts on the f-bird could take that much weight??? never swaped an engine before but i have taken the cadilac engine out and rebuilt it so it runs and puts out 200hp stock more than the 5.0l (305 cu in) and about 250 more ft lbs of torque ive never worked on gm drivetrains other than rebuiling the 472 and i don't know wether the lil pontiac can handle it?? plz help (sorry bout the spelling errors and repeats)

I know this isn't the "fix-all" for every situation, but would probably cost less to turbo or S/C your firebird than do the swap. You're also talking major suckage on gas with that 472.

i own both engines and can do all the work myself so cost isent really an issue is more wether or not the car can take the engine or wether ill have to fabricate the new engine mounts and i need to know if anyone has swaped with such a huge size difference gas is also no prob ill just deal with it for the power increase if it works be sides a super charged and fully tuned 472 will me way the hell meaner than any 305(5.0l) i see the point if i was taking it to a shop though

you can build up the 305 as well. you may not get as much out of it because of the huge difference in displacement between it and the caddy motor, but you can do quite a bit to the 305.
