EXHAUST SIZE on '92-'94 LGO Grand Am???

Hey guys, I need to replace a muffler on my '94 GA GT... and was wondering if THIS muffler (I know, typically used for Jap cars- but they're SUCH nice quality and the price is def right) would work...

The INLET size is 2.25" and I THINK the factory exhaust tubing on the "QUAD 4 HO" GA is like 2"... Does anybody know FOR SURE what size the factory exahaust is on the GA...probably the same for all '92-'95's (both engines in the GT anyway). And if it IS 2", would these stainless mufflers w/ 2.25" inlet/outlets WORK on it?

(I'm trying to take care of this muffler issus as cheaply as possible. I KNOW that a 2.25 or 2.5" cat-back would help tremendously- but I really am not trying to do all that right now. I just need a new muffler so I can get my inspection sticker put on/DRIVE THE CAR, ya know?

the inlet to the muffler on that year range grand ams was either 1 7/8" or 2" even. if you took your car and that muffler to a competent exhaust shop, they should be able to expand the pipe leading up to the muffler up to 1/4", allowing your muff to be welded on. However, I absolutely recommend you try to find a muff you like with the proper inlet diameter to match your existing piping.

WOW! SUPER-FAST RESPONSE from my man GooieB ! Yah, that's what I thought too. I measured it real quick, but I was wearing nice clothes (on the way into work)...and got 2" but THOUGHT it may have even been a tad under. Dude... It's so hard to find 2" inlets though. Man! I LIKE these mufflers by BroSpeed (or Bosal..whatever)- and they're a pretty good deal, but you're right, I don't wanna have it all rigged/expanded to make these work I guess. What would you suggest bro?

....So, I ended up having these Brospeed mufflers installed on my '94 GT. I am sorta pissed though- due to NOT installing an aftermarket y-pipe (like I did on my '92 GT, which also had the LGO) the frickin driver-side muffler gets so hot, that's it's melting my bumper cover!!
