Help! Car wont start!!!

Okay so as you all know I have been working on my car, well the other day I went to start it and it turns over but wont start. We thought it was the battery so we jumped it, and the first time it worked and started. When we shut it off and tried it again later, it still wouldnt start. SO we thought that it was just that the battery wouldnt hold a charge, so we got it tested and they said it was good. So we still tried another battery and it did the same thing. It started once after the old battery was put back in, however now it doesnt start again. I noticed that you can not shift, it is an automatic, however I can not push the button in and move the shifter, even in to neutral when the car is off. We even disconnected the battery and it still will not let us push in the button or shift it.

We dont know why it is doing this, does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for the help

Brandon

Re: Help! Car wont start!!!

thanks for the help so far...
I figured out a little something....

I tried to start it with the automatic start I have installed, when I did that it actually started, so I got in, put the key in, and put my foot on the brake so that I could shift it. However the kill switch on the brake killed the engine.
I tried it three times and it did the same everytime. What I am thinking is that the ignition is not reading that the key is in the "on" position....
because like you said i had no power to the battery, and had the key on the "on" position and it still would not shift.

Does this sound right to you all? Any other ideas? I actually have another ignition so I am going to try that and see if it works.
