LSJ Engine To Be discontinued? - GM Performance Tuning

So i heard that the LSJ engine thats found in the chevy cobalt ss supercharged is going to be discontinued this year! Can anyone confirm this?

haven't heard anything about it. is the forced induction option going to be gone or is the SS gonna get the turbo ecotec instead?

Yes, the Cobalt SS/SC and the SS models have been discontinued for 08. The 2.4L "SS" models will now be listed as "S" or Sport. The SS/SC is no longer going to be made at all.
Also no Turbo model.

The LSJ is not a quad4 based engine like the TwinCam 2.4. The LSJ was based on the Ecotec, which traces it's linage back to Europes Opal Brand.

yeah i know its not a Quad based engine, I dont even know why I said that, disregard that. But yes i heard they will discontinue the LSJ, but the new 2008 cobalt will now have a turbo instead of a supercharger.

No LSJ and the second quarter turbo is the LNF, 2.0 L, Variable Valve Timing, Direct Injection, (turbo - FI). 260 HP!... same engine used in the 2007 Pontiac Solstice (High HP option).

Don't worry about "turbo lag".... there won't be much, if any. Tuning is going to be a challenge, while "bolt ons" will make easy HP... I'll venture the best and easiest HP/$ gain to be from water / methyl alcohol injection.
