rod bearing for the 2.4l twin cam

i am looking for the performance rod bearing for a 97 pontiac grand am gt that has a 2.4l twin cam. the factory ones are shity for racing and need to be up graded so i am wondering if anyone knowes a site in which i can find them. or possibly a entire rebuild kit for it to go from stock to performance... i just hope that i don't have to buy it in seperate pieces. hehe. you know what i mean.

I've used clevite 77 for years. They can handle just about everything. What I would suggest because you use the engine for racing. Is invest in ARP main studs and rod bolts. Also have the engine internally balanced. It reduces the crank vibration, improves throttle response through out the RPM band. What type of racing do you do?

The rod bolts and main studs are from www.arp-bolts.com. The rest is machine work. You would need to locate a reputable machine shop to do the rest.

hey what about the rod bearings i have been looking but i can't figure which one my engine takes

Was the crank measured? If so and parts store should have it. If you have the crank machined they should include bearings it.

i know a place that can do them... i had mine polished... lightened... knife edeged...and balanced... for a resonable amout i believe so... the only thing is that u have to send there in... and the clevite 77 rod and crank bearings are not to bad as well... it added bout 27 whp to the car... good gain for n/a
