How a turbo works.
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/turbo.htm One kit I found. I don't know how well a Caviler Z24/Sunfire GT turbo will fit in a Grand Am engine bay, but it's your best bet. http://www.maximumboost.net/product_...f950043147b0e4 A custom Exhaust (behind the turbo/manifold) will have to be fitted, and ECU tuning will be up to you. Overwhelming Forums to check out http://www.j-body.org/forums/list.php?f=40 (j-body boost forum) http://www.Homemadeturbo.com Read up, it's really the best thing to do. I hope any kits available will come with instructions.
Maybe a post on J-body has steps? I wonder if anyone on www.gaownersclub.com has a turboed 2.4? |

Re: Can someone explain to me?
building a turbo kit really isnt something you want to tackle if you are a novice. there is a LOT of setup and planning if it's a custom kit. exhaust is obviosly the biggest issue, including clearance.
best bet is to find someone good at fabrication pipes and whatnot, and def. do your homework on what sized turbo/wastegate works best with your motor. also dont forget, more hp means more stress on other drivetrain parts including the trans!
